Dr Bhatt is a Consultant in Respiratory Paediatrics at Nottingham Children’s hospital and his special interests include chronic lung disease of prematurity, Cystic Fibrosis, asthma, pre-school wheeze, chronic cough, orphan lung diseases, inhalant allergies in children.
He was appointed consultant in 1994 at King’s College Hospital where he created the paediatric TB clinic and paediatric bronchoscopy and empyema services. He has been a senior member of the cystic fibrosis network with a major commitment to outreach work in the southeast region.
Jayesh provides Respiratory expertise for the nationally funded Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) clinic. He chaired a European Task force and produced a statement on multi-disciplinary Respiratory management in A-T. Jayesh works with multi-disciplinary CF and Respiratory teams which provide centre and shared care to children with Cystic Fibrosis in five hospitals across East Midlands region.
He remains very active in delivering and quality assuring training in Paediatric respiratory medicine in the UK since 2009. He is the current President of the British Paediatric Respiratory Society.
