Dr Irene Rivero is a consultant in paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases, she holds a Medicine degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with complementary training at leading institutions in the USA, Spain, and Panama.

Based at the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, she is a member of the GENVIP group and CIBERES network. She has over 150 publications, 200+ conference presentations, and has participated in 60+ clinical trials and multiple European research projects. She collaborates with the WHO Europe on paediatric vaccination training and holds patents in respiratory infections and vaccinology.
