Dr Kelechi Ugonna is a Consultant in Sleep and Respiratory Medicine at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. His clinical work spans paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine, including chronic cough, long-term ventilation, respiratory physiology, and sleep disorders such as narcolepsy.

His research focuses on improving understanding and management of airway disease and respiratory symptoms in children, including work on hyperpolarised MRI to detect early lung abnormalities. He also has research interests in respiratory infections, including RSV immunology, respiratory control and central apnoea, and exercise-induced breathlessness.
