Prof Elizabeth Whittaker

Liz Whittaker is a Professor of Practice in paediatric infectious diseases and immunology. She divides her time between Imperial College London and the Department of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology, St. Marys Hospital, London where she is a Consultant and clinical lead.

She is the Director of Research for West London Children’s Healthcare. Her research focuses on host-pathogen responses in children, including tuberculosis, SARS-CoV-2, RSV and CMV most recently. She also works closely with public health colleagues to address challenges to vaccine uptake in NW London.

Prof. Whittaker is the co-lead for HCID (high consequence infectious diseases) at St Marys and the National Clinical Lead for HCID in children for NHSE. In this role she is involved in national pandemic planning and research into emerging infections and infectious outbreaks.
