How to ventilate non-invasively in a DGH: Chronic & Acute NIV Virtual Masterclass

This masterclass will give attendees the opportunity to explore the application of acute and/or chronic non-invasive ventilation in the DGH.
Morning sessions will cover management and escalation in chronic ventilation with the opportunity to apply and consolidate knowledge in the chronic clinical scenario sessions.
The afternoon sessions will cover the theory and physiology of NIV from the acute perspective, followed by clinical scenarios addressing NIV in the acutely deteriorating patient
Dysfunctional Breathing MDT Virtual Masterclass
Target audience
MDT Professionals working within paediatric respiratory; primary, secondary, and tertiary, who are looking to widen their skills in this area.
Aims and objectives
- Gain confidence & skills for assessment and treatment of children and young people with the following co-morbidities; Breathing pattern disorders, Disproportionate breathlessness, nasal disuse, deconditioning, anxiety, Exercise induced Laryngeal Obstruction
- Learn the influence that inefficient breathing can have on health and quality of life
- Understand the importance of the nose and impact of nasal disuse
- Theoretical underpinning of MDT management
- Experiencing practical treatment techniques for MDT
- Learn about complexities about exercise differentials in CYP with asthma
Paediatric Spirometry Virtual Masterclass
This virtual masterclass will give attendees the opportunity to understand and learn how to perform quality assured spirometry and interpret spirometry results. Morning sessions will cover the physiology of the lungs and the theory of how to perform spirometry followed by equipment demonstrations and virtual practical sessions. In the afternoon, you will gain a better understanding of how to identify errors in performing spirometry and the recommended methods of interpreting spirometry. The masterclass will end with a case study presentation and an in depth presentation of how to attain the ARTP certification for the National ARTP Spirometry Register.
